SONY WI-C300

Design & Construction

The Sony WI-C300 is targeted at those looking for a simple and low-cost behind-the-neck style in-ear headphone. On the remote, you will find the Power Button, Volume button which also doubles up skip forward/backward controls and power button which works as a play/pause button while on the other side, you will find the Mic, Micro-USB port for charging and NFC tag. The earbuds, which bear the Sony logo, are quite small which means that they have no problems staying in your ears even when you do short sprints with them. The battery at the back is very light and will not cause discomfort to those who prefer to wear them all day. Overall, the product gives off this matte bright colour scheme which resist fingerprints smudges.

Sound Quality

The 9mm drivers are pretty average. They produce an extremely bright, clean sound signature that creates a very immersive sound experience. Bass comes off as strong and boosted giving a nice thump while the mids and highs have character and are fun to listen to. The highs do not sound too sharp and tinging. However, soundstage is rather narrow and there isn't much instrument separation. When the earbuds are in my ears, I could not hear my surroundings when there was no music on. Call quality was okay, the caller manage to hear me on the other end but the mics on the headphone do pick up my surrounding noise.

Connectivity & Portability

The headphone operates only wirelessly and supports the basic SBC and AAC codecs. Pairing via both NFC and bluetooth is simple and quick. The battery life peaks at 8 hours and takes about 2 hours to fully charge from a dead battery. The package comes with various sizes of earbuds and a Micro-USB cable for charging.
