SONY h.ear on 2

Design & Construction

After 2 years, Sony finally updated its h.ear lineup to the second generation. The h.ear on 2's are the successor to Sony’s previous h.ear on released in 2015. It still focuses on style and audio quality giving it users the perfect way to enjoy the best of both world without sacrificing any of them. The h.ear on is the most basic of the headphone lineup. Having a revamped the range of colours to a more sophisticated, classy look, Sony is looking to target young consumers of today's world. The h.ear on 2 feels durable and isn't prone to scratches as the previous model. The 3.5mm to 3.5mm cable is detachable and has a mic and one-button Android inline control for phone calls and music playback. The earcups still has a wide opening so that it encases your ears and cause absolutely no wearing fatigue. Overall, the headphone is super light-weight and definitely suitable for long commutes.

Sound Quality

As a part of Sony’s Hi-Res Audio series, it offers the same 40mm Hi-Res Audio drivers which generates great music. Highs and mids come off as balanced and bright and the lows hit deep. The beat response control above each earcup is hidden under the hinges help to give it a tight bass response as well. This makes the headphones great for all genres of music ranging from soothing jazz to bass-heavy EDM tracks. However, the headphone does suffer for low volumes even when I maxed out the volume on my Sony Xperia XZ. On the bright side, call quality was fantastic, the caller manage to hear me on the other end and didn't know I was using the mics on the headphone.

Connectivity & Portability

It connects via a 3.5mm audio jack and is supposed to be used with Sony Xperia phones or Walkman equipped with Hi-Res Audio capabilities for the best listening experience but even without a phone or MP3 Player that supports Hi-Res Audio, the audio experience is just as great. It comes with a carry bag which helps to protect it from unwanted drops or scratches.
