Design & Construction

Sennheiser once again gave the HD 25 a little throwback look by updating it with yellow earpads and a special logo. The HD 25 is the more expensive option to the HD 25 Light, but has more flexibility in terms of connectivity and usability. The headband and earcups bear the Sennheiser logo. The headphones is very light-weight and suitable for long DJ festivals. The earpads are quite thin but provides a very comfortable experience. The headband splits into two which allows for the headphones to rest on the DJ's head without worrying about falling off. There is also some thin cushion on the headband which does provide some comfort. The earcups swivel 90° for easy, one-ear monitoring. The exterior of the earcups has a black matte-like finish and the whole headphone is made of plastic. The earcups do also pivot left and right and folds up for easy storage.

Sound Quality

The Sennheiser HD 25 produce a very dynamic sound signature that is well suited for EDM or club like music. The highs are crisp and mids have clarity and bass is resonates strongly for the impressive thump. The soundstage and instrument separation is excellent with distinct left and right channels being heard clearly. This makes the headphones great for all genres of music ranging from soothing jazz to fast-paced EDM tracks. There was some sound leakage at full volume but no high-volume distortion. Based on user experience, the noise isolation is top-notch, I could not hear much of my surroundings even when I am using it at a low volume level.

Connectivity & Portability

The headphone operates passively via the supplied cables. It is also good to know that all the cables are detachable so you can replace them if you break or lose them. The package includes a 6.3 mm (1/4") screw-on adapter, 1 additional pair of black soft earpads and 1.5 m straight cable.
