WE RATE IT!

5/10

Design & Construction

The Bose Frames is a leap into the future that brings us closer to our goal to bridge the gap between technology and looks. On the right side of the frames, there is a single multi-function button that allows for play/pause of music, answer/end calls with a single press, skip forward with a double press and skip backwards with a triple press. Control the volume without the use of your smartphone is impossible. Pressing and holding down the button will bring up Google Assistant or Siri. There are 2 styles of glasses to choose from Alto and Rondo to complement multiple face shapes. Moving onto the case, it is a matte black box that keeps the eyewear in securely. The glasses charge via a proprietary cable on the inner right side of the glasses. Pairing via Bluetooth is simple and quick via the button on the glasses itself. The glasses lasts 3.5 hours and 12 hours on standby. The glasses are rather big but they rest comfortably on the nose bridge without actually feeling any extra weight which provides for a comfortable experience without slipping off. The exterior of the headphones gives off this matte colour scheme which resists fingerprint smudges and facial oils. The structure is made of metal and the glasses fold in for storage. It is important to know that the glasses are only IPX2 water-resistant which means they cannot be washed thoroughly

Sound Quality

The speaker drivers, unfortunately, produce a shallow and muffled sound signature to provide for a very immersive experience. Based on user experience, the music output volume was low and fails to perform in loud outdoor environment. Highs are sharp but not ear piercing. Mids come off decent and forward but the bass is nearly inexistent. There was only a little sound leakage at full volume and some high-volume distortion. Call quality was mediocre, the caller manages to hear me on the other end but the mics on the headphone do pick up my surrounding noises.

Connectivity & Portability

The headphone supports Bluetooth A2DP and Bluetooth HFP for clear audio transmission and up to 9m of range. The glasses' connectivity to the app is perfect as I do not experience any hiccups in Bluetooth connectivity. The package also comes with a cloth bag,
